Ingredients

Units Scale

Chicken and Coating:

  • 1 lb chicken breasts, diced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Cooking:

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Honey Butter Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coating: In a large bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the diced chicken and coat it well with the mixture.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat butter and oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add the coated chicken in a single layer and fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: Using the same skillet, melt butter over low heat. Add honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir the mixture until it caramelizes into a smooth sauce.
  4. Combine and Rest: Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet. Toss to coat the chicken evenly in the honey butter sauce. Let it rest for 5 minutes for the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and serve warm with ginger rice and sautéed green beans.
