The caramelized onions bring a delightful sweetness that complements the hearty beef, making it a satisfying and flavorful meal. Perfect for a family dinner or a quick yet comforting meal, this recipe is both simple and memorable.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Shape the ground beef into 4 patties. Season both sides of the patties with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the onions, stirring to coat them.
  6. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce and bring the mixture to a simmer.
