Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread, toasted
  • 1 can of baked beans
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh coriander, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add the chopped onion, green chili, and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté until the onions are golden brown.
  3. Stir in the chopped tomato, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
  4. Add the baked beans and simmer for 5-7 minutes to blend the flavors.
  5. While the beans are cooking, toast the bread slices until golden and crispy.
  6. Spoon the spicy bean mixture over the toasted bread.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese generously on top.
  8. Place the toast under a hot grill or broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
