Description

This Brown Sugar Soy Sauce Salmon blends sweet and savory flavors with a tangy lemon kick. A glaze of soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic enhances the flaky salmon, and broiling at the end adds a caramelized finish. This versatile recipe is perfect for weeknight meals or elegant dinners. Pair it with rice or vegetables for a nutritious and complete meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs salmon fillet
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Optional: Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and let the salmon rest at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Place the salmon fillet skin-side down on a baking sheet. Brush the top with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, lemon juice, butter, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves, stirring to prevent burning.
  4. Pour the sauce over the salmon and cover it with foil.
  5. Bake for 10-25 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon (approximately 10 minutes per inch).
  6. For extra caramelization, broil the salmon uncovered for 2-3 minutes at the end.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with green onions, and drizzle any extra sauce over rice or pasta.
